Whether you were referred by a GP, specialist, another audiologist, or a colleague — welcome. Here's exactly what happens next and what makes Canberra Audiology different from other options you may have been given.

Being referred to us is a great starting point. It means your GP or specialist has identified a hearing concern worth investigating properly — and you're now in the hands of an independent clinic that won't rush you or push products you don't need.

Before Your Appointment

What to bring and what to do first

Bring your referral letter

If your GP, ENT, or specialist gave you a written referral, bring it to your appointment.

DVA card holders

If you hold a DVA card, please bring it to your appointment so we can confirm your entitlements and ensure you access the appropriate funded care.

Bring your existing hearing aids (if applicable)

If you currently wear hearing aids — from any provider — bring them along. We can assess whether they are programmed correctly, identify any issues, and discuss your options without any obligation to purchase new devices.

You're welcome to bring someone

You're encouraged to bring a family member or support person. They can provide useful context about how your hearing affects your communication day-to-day — and it's helpful to have someone with you when discussing results and options.
